The dreadful age of being 13, the old mascara wand you’ll steal from your mother’s purse when she’s not looking. Your closest friends will make fun of you for not having your period yet, and great uncle joe will grab you a little too tight at the next family gathering ,while making sure to let you know you look like you’re “filling in.” You ask your mother who Uncle Joe even is because he probably hasn't seen you since you were in your mothers womb. She’ll give you “The look” you won’t know what it means, but “The look” will hold great value as you age.

 The dreadful age of being 13, boys will be mean and girls will be worse. You’ll feel too small in the “right” places and too big in the “wrong” ones. The school bathroom will be your second home, the walls bleed with the latest gossip, the floors reek of vomit from the days when you couldn’t stomach your waist into your jeans, and the mirror will reflect all the laughter and tears.
