Clementine MAG
Clementine walks with me on Mondays
She tells me about her job and her past
She works the late shift at the waffle house
She has three brothers and a cat named Oreo
She wears her hair in braids
Tells me it used to shine like butter
 Which I don't quite understand
Tells me you had to see it to know what she meant

Clementine has dark circles that shadow her eyes
She tells me it's from her late hours
She doesn't mind because she gets paid all right
She likes the smell of eggs at 2 a.m.
She doesn't get many tips but the conversation is good
 Tells me about truck drivers
Who tell her about their families
 Tells me about teenagers
Who might as well be veterans of a tired war

Clementine clutches the ring that hangs from her neck
She tells me its story the most
She used to wear the ring on her finger
She used to hold his hand
She used to work the day shift at the waffle house
So she could come home to him
Tells me how funerals can break your already broken spirit
And I know it still hurts her like before
Tells me how she puts flowers on his grave
And I know she hates going to that ghost town alone
So I walk with Clementine on Mondays
