Remnants
I spoke to you in not words but poetry
Asked you to believe in me
 Just one more time-
To see past all the times I misused you
 (rinse, repeat).
 I swore up and down
 This was the last time
 (it’s always the last time).
And that now, I was yours
 Forever and ever
 (forever’s end on Tuesdays).
 And you believed me
 Like you always do
 (tiny little blue bird).
