I escape with chai

“Just give me a tall chai tea before I die!”
Then I hear “How may I help you?” I just got lost in me…oh my!
So after I pay my entire day away,
I find a spot where I leave my brain at bay,
Taking in sips of joy right through my lips,
Taking out inferences and letting my couscous slip,
My current thoughts take me back to past’s forever lost,
As the texture of chai reminds me of hearts once so soft,
Flavors race though my buds as the current time could only erase,
The only thing that keeps time now is my heartbeats steady pace,
The only thing that stimulates my senses is the tastes,
And the reactions to actions barley show in my face,
The weather forecast for the moment is a thunderous brain storm
No prayers for sunny weather because it wouldn’t seem the norm,
Through drops I see lots of memoires fading in the coldest winter,
But there are no heartbreaks or beats of TR-808’s I can hear,
Nor could you find the shear of tears against my face here,
Just simple chai sipping and reminiscing,
To be excited from the current time I won’t be missing,
Because from pain is pleasure and its opposite lasts for an eternity,
So I escape with chai as I try to find serenity and tranquility.

There was once a point in my life where I was down, and I would go to Starbucks and just sit down to sit chai tea and reminisce. I would sometimes write as well.
