What if there was peace instead of war ?
What if we didn’t have this violence anymore ?
How would we be if the world was fair ?
What would the world be if everyone could just care ?
What if everyone was happy instead of forlorn ?
What if people kept the promises they have sworn ?
What if words were up-building rather than degrading ?
What if old age was vibrant instead of fading ?
What if there was living instead of killing’?
How can there be a good hero without an evil villain ?
In turn what if there was love instead of hate ?
What if we didn’t each other berate ?
What if there were no more rainforest cut-and-burn-downs ?
Really , how hard is it to smile instead of frown ?
What if there was thoughts of honesty rather than personal gain ?
How would the world be without all this sickness and pain ?
What if there was more then plenty for all ?
Can we pick each other up when we fall ?
What if we didn’t always want so much more ?
What if we didn’t each other abhor ?
Could we put our hands to better use ?
What if we didn’t use them for abuse ?
What if we didn’t carry around big , mean , guns ?
What if China kept its daughters and not just its sons ?
What if there was no global warming ?
What if there was universal ecstasy instead of universal mourning ?
Then we could all live in a much better way ,
I guess peace is the thing I’m trying to convey .

This poem was an english assignment . The majority of the lines had to start with "What If's". After looking at it , I decided that it wasnt half bad . It gets you to think about deeper issues at hand , such as how there is so much violence . I believe that if everyone was just a little nicer to each other , than the world would be a better place .
