My Brief Career As A Comedian
Laughter.
All I hear is that f***ing laughter.
Incessant shrieks of laughter
Pounding away at my eardrums,
All directed towards me.
What’s so damn funny?!
Do I amuse you?!
Am I your clown?!
I’ve heard enough of it.
All my life, I’ve watched you do nothing
Except laugh at me,
But in some perverse way,
Your laughter says it all.
Now it’s my turn.
I know who I am.
I’m no joke.
I’m not some clown.
You are.
I’m the one
who should be laughing,
And I do,
At you.
Am I still funny?
HA!
