Trees of stone
And leaves of steel
Stand still in these
Cold winter days
Not moving or singing
Like they use to do
They just stand
Staring at you
I see the way
They use to dance

Green leaves fluttering
Through the soft sweet wind
Dancing to songs of glory
They sing

But now nothing sings
For today no one cares
In this time
Everything just stands still
And no one walks by
