The phone calls, the letters
The wishing travel was better.
The missing, the tears
The hollow spaces that form over the years
Connecticut, Oregon: miles apart
Six years ago I didn’t think it would matter
Six years ago I wasn’t six years sadder
Old friends and new aches
Take the place of my heart
As I reflect on that part
Of my life

This poem is about leaving behind my friends in Connecticut 6 years ago and still missing them. It's a little sappy, but I like it.
