Addiction
When I'm not
I want to be.
Cause when I am,
I feel so free.
I can hear the deafness of my words.
I can see the blindness of my forward steps.
My eyes are red and bloodshot,
but my heart is numb
from the pain,
and that's all that
matters.
To me, it's the only way
to be able to get through a day
without breaking down again,
without longing for the end.
My soul is shattered,
and this is the cure.
Will I ever be better?
I'm not too sure.
Like a soap opera,
life is all too tragic.
And I can say in all honesty:
I'm not ashamed to be an addict.
