Light spins off tears a million times
Reflecting on dull feathers
And bones shattered like glass.

Trembling hands grasp at final hopes
Wipe clean the ashen, tear-streaked cheeks
And shove away the ground.

Now standing there, defying pain,
Spreads her wings to rise again-
Angels fly higher on broken wings.
