wheels of clay
ravage these ruins
try to beat us with skyscrapers
but through the cracks we've
already fallen.
found the edge
of the sidewalk
and decided to jump.
shirts off, banshee howling.
only children but we've
already hardened
beyond the flecks of asphalt
lodged in our faces.
it's a romantic chaos
but we don't notice it
at 70 mph on a
downhill slope.
you think you're ready
for this
but we just shake our heads
and laugh.
because motherf'r,
you've gotta be born this way.
