Secret Revenge
You’re blinded and hands tied up
Knowing any second could be your last
You hear the sobs and screams of your daughter and
 Think of her pain
 Imagine.
Yes, she must be scared; you can see her face now
 Peering out from the shadows
 Her dried up tears
 Face red and bloody
Eyes that speak of fear and terror
That’s the face that haunts you
 To this day-
You awake in a cold sweat
 It was just a dream
 Or was it?
Her hand reaches out to you
Longing to feel her touch you move closer
 Wanting to comfort her
 Tell her everything’s alright
But mommy, you should know not to make promises
 You can’t keep
