Love Like Smoke
It starts as a raging wildfire
wiping out everything in it's way
getting bigger and bigger
and hotter and hotter
-just like your touch
and your smile when you held me close-
but what's wild is unhealthy
and every fire gets put out
slowely at first
-like when you called every day,
then once a week,
then twice a month,
then four times over the whole summer-
and love becomes smoke
but smoke is still visable
and still has a shadow of warmth from the fire
until then the wind blows
-when i decided that was enough-
and what was love vanishes into thin air
