Trust me
Trust me I want to be happy
But I think I’ve forgotten how
I used to smile a lot
But that function is dead now
Too much pain and other things
From the blows life has given me
I stand puzzled in the mirror
 Not recognizing who I see
 Questions I have
 But answers never given
I’ve searched every book, magazine, and document
 Everything ever written
 Desperate for these answers
 I look to the sky
 Arms outstretched
 Struggling to fly
 What now do I do?
 Is the question I ask
 Wondering when happiness will come
And how long it will last
