We Met
Before we met,
I can't remember how I got through the day.
Before we met,
it's a wonder I didn't fade away.
Before we met,
Miserable is the word that could describe me, at best.
Before we met,
my head could never take a rest.
The night we met,
I didn't have a clue.
After we met,
I couldn't get enough of you.
Now that we've met,
I can't think to stop this.
Now that we've met,
I am an addict.
Without you,
functioning would be barely possible.
Without you,
Living along would be entirely unplausible.
When we met,
I had a taste of the forbidden fruit.
When we met,
My cares disappeared; I saw only truth.
When we part,
I will lament your absence.
When we part,
You will never know
how much you truly meant.
When I fall to pieces,
You'll know it's cause you're gone.
You'll know that you completed me,
and without you,
I'm no one.
