leaves fall off our favorite trees,
a deciduous tragedy.
autumn is swallowed by winter
whose bitter fingers search blindly
for victims.
romanticism runs away from you,
runs away from me
because we forgot about chlorophyll.
science is beginning to convince us
that love illogical is a chemical reaction--
we are Swayed.
and so leaves make their way across the universe
flying nowhere for the season of hate.
they go back home
back to the freshly uncharted
bubbles of quiet.
deep in the battlefield of ambient wars,
they happily watch their downfalls
their waterfalls
their windfalls.
in search of Wanderlust,
they crawl away from you,
away from me.
while we wait for spring,
cold antiquity is our only introspection.

I just really like the word 'wanderlust', I knew I had to use it in a poem.
