My Mistake
I’m at a block
 My thoughts drain out,
 But you-you remain.

 Looming figure, you run forward.
 Talk down to me-
Your patronizing words are the snare.

Push me away and pull me forward,
 You leave me lost.
 I try to defend myself-

You give me a brilliant retort “shut-up.”
 The pathway then diverges-
I must choose to follow or leave.

 Chasing behind you,
 Now it’s my mistake completely,
I should have gone the other way.
