Finally you understand what it's like
to have to care for someone
to breathe for someone
to be a stronghold
and a savior
finally you're forced into feeling
real pain for someone else
tears for a problem that isn't yours
and it hurts
finally you're plagued with a sorrow you can't escape
for a problem you can't fix
for a person that you love
but you can't heal.
Finally the roles reversed
and now you know how I once was
how I still am
