Are we friends?
Whenever there’s trouble your nowhere in sight
Are we friends?
Your not there when I can’t sleep at night.
Are we friends?
I feel more and more distant from you.
Are we friends?
I’m constantly trying to please you.
Are we friends?
The reality of it is sinking in to me.
Are we friends?
‘Cause we never were, we’ll never be.

The author's comments:
The inspiration for this piece came with a bit of self reflection. I was pondering over some recent activities and came to the conclusion that sometimes the fantasy and the actuality may be two different things. Although, I want to believe someone is a good friend they might actually only like me for what I can give them. So the message behind this piece is that you should make friends but not too fast cause you never know what their true motives are.
