"Couple of The Year"

Sometimes a stop to wonder
if maybe you remember
it's been so long since high school
or at least it seems.
Do couples like us forgot?
Or do we hold on to
the memories the bound us
together
not one, but two.
Our hearts used to be tied
and i was twisted 'round your finger
Do you remember?
...Or how about that summer?
The one we spent outside
and we listened to the birds sing
and laughed until we cried?
Or was that all a fantasy
in a lost and found year book
"couple of the year"
Yeah, i suppose that's what we used to be.
