Imagine It
Imagine It
Imagine the world with nothing but peace
Nothing but love or harmony, and all is safe.
Imagine the world with all people of all colors
Joining hand in hand, to say in unison
“Yes we can!”
To say to oppression and fear, hate and racism
That we have conquered you, and we are all equal
no longer shall we be individuals.
Imagine the world with no gangs, no murders,
No rape or hate.
Instead imagine it with young black men and women,
Young Asians, young Hispanics, young sons and daughters
Of all races, going to school, or work, or coming home
from work to see their family.
To see their sons and daughters, and their wife or husband
Waiting patiently for them to join and share the day’s stories
When the children are tucked in, and the man and woman lie in bed
The man turned the woman just as the woman turned to him
And they both said,
“ United we are one, and we are free,
We are loved and cherished, and we shall conquer all obstacles
That have been placed in our path.
United we are brothers and sisters, mother and father
Friends and lovers.
United, we are one.”
Imagine that.
Imagine, IT.
