Skyscrapers abound, there’s a chill in the air,
Excitement is found at each city square.

Shoulder to shoulder, two million or three,
Await for the start and all that’s to see.

Those to be viewed are arriving on foot,
A special place for each is where they are put.

At fourteen it’s hard to take in this great site,
But I try to recall this with all of my might.

For once in a lifetime, I’m granted this spot,
And know this is a result of all I’ve been taught.

A blare of a whistle, the sirens begin,
The children are waiving as are women and men.

We’re here to delight and of course entertain,
There’s talent, balloons, and those of great fame.

The cameras are rolling, the announcers are queued,
The entire country is in a festive mood.

The 82nd Annual Macy’s Parade is in gear,
One that I’ll remember year after year.

For watching the parade is a treat to be had,
But marching the route is really quite rad.

We arrive at Herald Square to perform for the crowd,
As a dancer, I’m sure, I’ve never been more proud.

And then it’s all over, the balloons start to fade,
But this day of all days is what memories are made.
