The forever war
May 12, 2010
I never thought
I'd see my friend
Swallowed
By this war.
His bones slowly
Crushed
Under a thousand-ton weight,
The weight of the world.
His being picked apart
By the demons
Surrounding him.
Friends become sworn enemies,
Enemies become friends.
And so it is,
Since the beginning
Of civilization
With no end
In
Sight.

This was a really great poem and the story behind it is cool :)

I woke up one morning with the first two or three lines running through my head as a part of a forgotten dream. The rest of the poem wrote itself as I remembered the people who have drifted into my life, and then back out again.

The first two or three lines were running through my head one morning after I woke up. They seemed to be part of a forgotten dream. It's the first really good poem I have ever authored. The rest of the poem wrote itself as I remembered the people I once knew who have drifted away.
