I am from abandoned rock-a-bye lullabies/
From snow chairs in the backyard/
I am from infamous games of rumee/
From Mexican nights out with my friends/
I am from summer beach houses and sandy bodies/
From unexpected thunderstorms while on a lake/
All a part of me still,/
Some vivid, some forgotten//

I am from endless re-runs of Scooby Doo/
From Halloween costumes gone wrong/
I am from made-up games with my siblings/
From back-breaking volleyball practices/
I am from Germany and Africa/
From summer pool parties/
I am from laughs so hard I cried/
From buffets I stuffed my stomach with//

I am from a long trip of being lost in the woods/
From the thanksgiving dinner we missed/
I am from nights slept in the wild/
From long walks to and from school/
I am from unbelievable random friends/
From walking blind with my best friend/
Never had we walked in a straight line//

All my memories stored in my mind/
Erasing one would be hard, /
Even though I have forgotten many/
Someday they will come back to me/
