An Eternity

Just sitting here thinking about how hard I have tried
How long I have held on
All the tears I have cried
And the pain you have caused

I think about letting go
Letting go of all the laughs
The good times and the bad
Because in the end the bad out weighs the good

But I have held on for so long,
And just when I am ready to let you go
And let the tears pour,
I remember why I held on for so long

Maybe it was your laugh, your smile or the way you held my hand
Or maybe it was how I could tell you everything and not worry what you would think.
Or maybe it was how for once in my life I actually let someone in
Gave someone everything ignoring all my fear.

When you love someone you care more for them than yourself
And through all of our fights and everything we have been through
You are still the one I want, the one I will continue to fight for,
And love for eternity, because you are worth it.

And for those simple reasons I cannot let you go,
I will hang on as long as I have to because I know this love is true.
And you and I are meant to be.

A poem I wrote about having the strength to continue to love when all you want to do is give up.
