I fell off my bike when I was six years old,
Bruised my knees – black and blue.

I fell off the pier, gazing out at the sea,
Mom started crying; “I thought we almost lost you”

I fell during my fifth grade graduation ceremony,
Embarrassed; I was convinced that my life was officially done.

I've fallen during track meets,
My enraged coach would scream, “Don't you know how to run?”

There are many times when the world decides to knock you down
And leave you with some tears, grazed, bloody knees, and a frown.

I've fallen plentiful times; evidence proves this true
Crying, being laughed at, and bruising my knees black and blue.
It's only now that I realize, these are only memories I laugh through

However, the worst fall I ever made
Wasn't a fall that could be bandaged up by the first-aid
This time falling made me clueless, vulnerable, and afraid.
