Unwinding Into Blue
All strength has left this sanctuary
Built inside of him with a beauty
That nature had to destroy
The one that once was will never truly be
Eyes closed
All he feels is air entering his lungs
What had become this dream
Was turned into another insomniac night
He prayed and promised and nurtured
But He has taken away all that would make things right
Eyes closed
All he hears is the crying of the unborn
There was once a living being
Residing within what used to be a shell
Why did she have to be stolen from him?
His number was before hers in Hell
Eyes closed
All he fears is lying dead in His hands
Shutting down, he'd escape into the white
And he'd foresee holding the creature
That love placed inside of his empty body
Now, he'll never get to see her
Eyes closed
All he sees is the pieces sinking
Before she came into this boy's life
He was hardly anything but a brick in the wall
Any substance was worth injection
But she made him smile picture-perfect
Eyes closed
All he breathes is the guilt of life
As the night travels onwards to meet day
Tears glide down his face
Feeling the hollow as deep as a black hole
Swallowing all that was good, leaving nothing but disgrace
Eyes closed
All he needs is burning for his sins
Staring ahead at the stoplight
All he can see is the angels coming to tear them apart
Wondering why they felt obliged to tease him
Is he not worthy of a single honorable mark?
Forever screaming
How his own is forever burning
