throwing my silhouette
into sharp relief

the tiny flame
close to the floor

elongating
my dark twin
that fell across
the wooden slats

stretched
and barely touched
their black counterparts

shadows cannot reflect

A tear
dripped down
unseen
on the girl at my feet
