Only A Secret
Simple human nature
 helps the grapevine grow tall
with ripening rumors and bitter words
 that spin through the winepress
knowing who loves to get drunk on them.
 Such hatred and anger
in the soil in which it's planted.
 Tears flow freely,
hydrating the plant to it's fullest.
 Yet when the season's over
the result is nothing but an empty cup,
a broken heart, and a useless grudge.
