your eyes
I follow your gaze and look up
Your eyes, so trusting that there is more than this world
 Something beyond
And I want to let you take me there
You see me looking at you instead of the stars and smile
Your asymmetrical face tilts to the side and one half of your mouth opens more than the other
Revealing straight white teeth that are perfect
The freckle beneath your left eye disappears as your eyes crinkle up and you laugh
Like a water fall the sound remains
Ringing in my ears long after it has passed
 Your hands
 Warm and rough, I trust
They lace between my own fingers and when I see I can’t help but smile
 The blanket we sit on
Patches of red and white coming apart at the seams
The remains of the dinner both of us were too preoccupied to eat
Sit by, easily forgotten when I look into your eyes
And before I can catch myself
 I’m already lost
And I don’t ever want to be found
The icy green chills me as I can see your soul
As if playing out in a movie
You come across so strong, but your eyes betray you
And I know that deep down you are just as weak as
 Me
 That you feel lonely too
 And I see the worry
And I know that it’s my fault
I know I make you nervous when I get quiet
When my laughter dries up and it’s hard to make me smile
When no matter how hard I try, I always end up falling apart on you
And you hold me as I cry
And tell me it will be ok
And in those moments I can believe you
But right now…looking into your eyes
I know that I scare you
And that hurts more than everything else
Knowing that you look at me and don’t recognize the girl that I’ve become
