I Will Conquer Soon
Settle me something wise
Something fair and tender
A piece of history that tames my curiosity
Settle me something great
Something brilliant
An object a man of gold should envy
Settle me a power that is unseen to Kings
Untouched by Gods
And unheard of by human ears
Walk me through open doors
And chamber arches that comb me through dragon lairs and fiction couches to fantasy gardens and hopeless mutters of candy store gossip
Take me beyond the reality of human intuition
Far past skin and bone and soul, into the piece we never find
Shadow my back and lay me next to hungry lions as we snooze in empty cribs
Filled with rice and simple sun rays
Let us dance upon hilltops that float above oceans
Carried weightlessly by trillions of quilted butterflies
Tear apart my limbs and set them on the four corners of the world
Let me explore and fight my way to greatness
Bring adventure to my doorstep
Then steal me far away from it
I will conquer soon
