To believe something as true

Well I’m not a believer.
I don't trust it.
It feels like carrying an extra one hundred
pounds
In my heart
I want to trust you
But you have to earn it
Show me that you won't take my flaws
And spite me with them
Don't be like everyone else
Don't tell me you care
-Show me
Prove to me you won't leave me,
After you took what you wanted from me
Like every other boy

If you are committed to this,
Open-up to me
Tell me your secrets
And your insecurities
Tell me your biggest fear,
And your perfect day
Let me inside your world
So I don't feel used when I show you mine
Be yourself with me
Don't be afraid to be crazy
Weird
And different
I strive for different
Pretend to be interested when I tell you about some poem I wrote
Read it and tell me what you really think
Never be afraid to say what you really feel
Never lie to me
I don't just trust anyone, you know
That's my biggest fear
Because it has back-fired on me so many times

It's such a joke
Is there really anyone you can trust?
God, maybe
But even He can take away the Ones you Love
When you need them the most
Myself?
But even I can make stupid decisions
Make the same mistakes over and over
Trying to be happy, and stitch my scars
All because I trusted someone

If you want me to trust you
Love me at my worst
And cherish me at my best.
Don't give me tissues when I cry,
Give me a hug
Defend me when your friends laugh at me

You want me to trust you?
...Then
Be the best friend I never had.

its a shame no one has replied to this article!!!!! i absolutely love it. the wording choice is great and it really speaks to me personally. it seems like you are just writing a letter to this person that you love so much and you want to be able to trust them. i feel the same way, because my best friend doesnt seem to see me the way i see him, and i kind of am in the position where i feel like im being replaced. but hey. its inspiration for poetry. but your work really thrills me, cant wait for you to maybe comment on some of mine!! ( working on getting a LOT approved , soooo check in soon! i have one right now)
