Hospital Beds
Hospital walls; bright, white
Forgotten names; floors remember.
Windows too clean; hiding cities
Doors closed; keep it contained.
She didn’t wear scrubs; to look nice.
Hair unwashed; face left fragile.
Glittering breaths; crystal smile
Nothing prettier; life.
Beds cling to pain; shattered cries
Rip through thin cloth; bare feet on linoleum.
Leave now; while you’re still you.
Don’t fall; open doors; stare through windows.
Hold on and leave; breathe thick air
Taste sweet colours; New autumn can share.
