Life's Precarious Edge
Is it really a life worth living
When we’re balanced on so precarious an edge?
 Seconds is all it takes
For life to change its course
A sudden turn with an undetermined end
Can bring this precarious life over the edge

Just a few words can bring us tears
And just a few words can make our day
A smile from a friend will bring us joy
And a scowl from a foe can cut us deep

 Success gives us wings
To fly higher and achieve more
 But when we fail
 We mope around
And forget how to even walk on the ground

 With high hopes
And tender nervousness in our hearts
 We bite the bullet
 And play our part
 But when
 Faced with rejection
 All our dreams clattered
 All our hopes drowned
 We lose the energy
 To get up
 And try once again

Is it really a life worth living
When we’re balanced on so precarious an edge?
A sudden turn with an undetermined end
Can bring this precarious life over the edge
And where has the now energy gone
That was necessary to climb our way back?
