Look away,
do something else
other than
stare
at you.
Pretending.
It's getting easier
after
all these weeks,
months,
years.
Appearing
to be
perfectly fine,
happy,
whole.
The make-up of the soul.
Started young.
Just gets easier,
better,
prettier
than the
scars
buried beneath
the bronzer,
powder,
and gloss.
