"It takes a second to say I love you but a lifetime to show it" " Love is like the air we breath. It may not always be seen, but it is always felt, used, and needed"

I stand by home plate
Waiting for the pitch
A few practice swings I take
My eye on the pitcher
My bat in the air
My knees are bent
My feet are spread
Bases loaded with two outs
We are down by three
First pitch comes
I swing away
Strike one! I hear someone say
The next pitch comes
I swing hard
It’s a hit
Farther and farther it goes
It is an honor to be
To be in the batters box

I wrote this poem on September 17, 2010. I was thinking of the times when I played baseball. I wrote about all the feelings I felt while in the batters box. I wrote this poem for you to relate to the feelings if you have ever played baseball. I hope you enjoy this poem. Please comment
