veins and brains and life
my, oh my
how loudly the birds sing on a crisp spring morning
how softly the leaves drop in the fall
worldly wonders for miles around
in sights and sounds and scents
how beautifully we came to be
how curiously
delicate wrinkles carved 'round my mother's eyes
an expert craftsman's work
spirals in snailshells and circles in eyes
veins and brains and life
each one of us a ticking clock
a product of wear and tear
a journey ahead and one behind
no reason, no reward
the gift of life is enough for me
and when its over i'll smile and say
oh, was this beautiful!
