Through these hallowed halls so cold,
Blank eyes stare out of rough canvases,
Fake smiles taunting.
I miss my fairy tale.
I miss my knight in shining armour,
The moon reflecting off its silver plate.
I miss his eloquent voice,
Keeping dragons away from my keep,
His sword glinting and gleaming with gory liquid rubies.
Yet the thief is there as well...
Creeping through the darkness,
A shadow on the moon on the lake.
In ways more daring yet less eloquent than the knight's,
He steals me away from my stone prison.
I miss my shiny knight,
From who's one grace shalt my heart be freed.
