"Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia." ~E.L. Doctorow

Small gray eyes
Have watched
Year in and year out
At all the joy and pain

She saw the deaths
She saw the fights
She saw a love
And she witnessed a lost hope

She’ll witness more, I know
More loss
Maybe a first heartbreak
Maybe the smile after a first kiss

Though she has no words
No voice or encouraging advice
She’s always helped
Always been there for me

For a sad girl
Her shoulder was always there
Whenever the time came
For a simple cry

This is short, sweet, and powerful. The emotion was really intense. I love your poems!

this is very deep and seems like it has a looot of emotion behind itt. good job :) the only thing i have to say is that in the first stanza you said watched year in and year out at all the joy and pain. you dont watch at something, lol. but im assuming that was just a slight mix up

Even though the poem is short, it says so much more than what is written. Really good job at captivating emotion.
