His Embrace
The last time I saw you
Was the first time we touched.
So distant, yet-
So close.
Your eyes were green,
Instead of blue;
Making me wonder,
Were you being true?
But as I melted
Into your embrace
My suspicion was subdued.
And all I knew to be true (at the time)
Was that I was in love with you.
It didn't last that long,
But I didn't need much.
My heart began to slowly shed
Its thick layer of rust.
But as we parted
Your strange green eyes
Darted away from me.
And I could see
Once and for all
That you could
Never truly love me.
The last time I saw you
Was the first time we touched.
And now I'm gone
And that's the end
Of my first lover's first touch.
