Wishing

I pulled out an eyelash,
I broke a wishbone lying on top of the trash,
I wished on a shooting star,
I blew on a dandelion squashed by a car,
I threw a penny in a fountain,
I climbed to the peak of a mountain,
I waited up til 11:11 at night,
Wished on my birthday candles hoping with all my might,
But my wish didn’t come true,
Because my wish was for you…
