She Lay There
She lay there,
Amongst vile surroundings,
A skull in her hand,
And wonders aloud.
"Is this meant to be, or not to be?
Where is thy answer?"
Frustration builds deep inside.
"Answer me."
Those fathomless eyes bore into hers,
That boorish grin mocking her.
That mocking grin caused it all.
Those empty eyes supplied her downfall.
They drop, drop, drop to match the corpse.
Her own fathomless eyes stare at it.
"Thy answer I shan't understand.
Thy will I shan't forgive.
My heart was yours.
Was my pain worth your death?"
She takes one last look at the corpse
And begins to wonder
If what she did was worth the bother.
For what's the point
When her heart shalt be broken again?
"Render me a great service…"
She begins,
Her head tilted back
And it begins to rain.
"Forget thy name and render thee boorish.
My heart you hath broken,
Yet remember the pain you've bequeathed to me."
She lay there,
Amongst vile surroundings,
A skull in her hand.
