are you looking for me?
Do you know where I have gone?
Let me show you
let's drink from broken mugs
with out pinkies sticking out
and put our head on our hat
and our feet on our shoes
and roll out the door
onto a patchwork quilt
that doesn't match at all
and the trees grow from the top down
the small ones reaching with their roots
almost touching the ground
but not quite
the clouds suck the water from the bucket back up
into the skies
we will skip and hold hands
down the sidewalk
until we reach the end of it
and look out
over the abyss
the edge of the world
don't slip
hold my hand
I never believed for a second it was round
until the last chameleon-tongue ray of sunlight is rolled up
like a spring
and the sun sets into the ground
this is where you'll find me
I hope you will come too

"Don't punish yourself," she heard her say again, but there would be punishment and pain, and there would be happiness too. That was writing."

Something about the ending makes me think. I'm not quite sure what it is though.
