What is a hero?
s it a
gliding character
with a soaring red cape
muscles hugged by fabric that’s a little too tight,
one that might return to love’s arms
each night?
Or does the power lie in the quiet,
The buzzing spark of jurisdiction
suppressed by their modest homes on Ordinary Street?
Able to conquer
getting their children to eat their broccoli
whilst indulging in the light of love
each night.
I’d like to think they work together,
or better yet, they’re the same person.
Playing hopscotch on clouds at dawn
and tucking in dear Ellie at night.
