I like this clean page
it is warm and blank and fresh and strong
and I will smear it with thoughts that have no purpose here
and no tears will smudge the edges
because I am no longer that canary in the cage
not the bugs blindly banging into the porch light
I am not the dust that gathers on top of the fan
I am not worthless,
scared
or purpose-less
I have a being
and you can no longer tap on the glass
to try and enrage the sleeping beast within
I will give you no more satisfaction
you have no more power over me
I am free
the glass is broken
the key turned in the lock
the dust wiped off the fan
and you are the one left with bars and locks
so now I fly away
on yellow sunny canary wings
and I will give you no more thoughts today
or any day
wipe this page clean and white again

I like the way you connected the beginning and the end. I didn't exactly get why you said "scared" when you said "I am not worthless scared or purpose-less." But I love all the different analogies that you said in there.
