Being a Scientist
I need something interesting
To do all my life
That job just doesn’t…
Just doesn’t seem right
I could work in a lab
Would I waste away?
Would my discoveries
…If any
Be given away?
Would the company take all my ideas
And churn them out to the public
As if I had no ears
How could I get my own lab?
Would that be allowed?
Would they make me sign contracts
So that I would be bound?
That’s the problem with science
Its as risky as cards
You could spend you whole life
Just working so hard
And all you will get is a pat on the back
As the company you work for
Send your ideas in a sack
They send them off in a bag ready to burst
while the world claps for another
And you scream I thought it first
