A Mother's Love
A mother’s love helps children live and grow
They pass on their love and what they know
To their children they bring up right
Behind every child is their mother’s light
I want to thank you for all that I am
You teach me how to be a better man
To spread my love of teaching to all
You make me stand up strong and tall
I don’t know if I took time to say
To thank you for loving me in your “Mommy” way
I don’t know where’d I’d be
If you didn’t stand beside me
My past is murky and cloudy at best
It was a challenge, the hardest test
I was on the ground with nowhere to go
You picked me up and watched me grow
The day I officially became part of your home
I knew no longer did I have to roam
I have a place I can lay my head
A place I’m safe, warm in my bed
The past is behind, the future is ready
Your helping hand is keeping me steady
In case I trip and fall back down
But you will always be there, always be around
I want you to know how much I care
That you let me into your life, this life I now share
You are hope in my eyes that the future is bright
A mother love like yours tells me it’s alright
