Ocean
I can remember seeing sand and crushed shells
The foaming waves washing up the ocean's treasures
Creatures going about their daily business
Families laughing and splashing in cold water
A golden sun over blue green waters.
I can remember smelling a fishy ocean smell
A fire for hot dogs and marshmallows
The damp, salty air that hung over the place like a thick coat
The lunch you packed that is spread out on a blue blanket
Greasy sun tan lotions and tanning sprays.
I can remember hearing crashing waves against slimy rocks
The call of a mother telling her children it is time to go
Laughing and talking coming from so many places at once
The different songs of nature all around you
The crunch of shells under worn out flip flops
I can remember the ocean
