Shadow on the Wall
Did you see that?
That one moment?
Of slowed time?
When you hugged me?
Did you see that?
I reached for you
Just as you did for me
I looked
To your eyes
And glanced Down
Away
Turned Body
One arm free
I looked away
Shy
I caught the Image
Our shadows
Melded together
forming one
Squeezing
I hoped you'd feel it
Your arm
Awkward
On my shoulder
Moving closer
pressing gently
My eyes
Saw everything
Slow
I noticed
You pulled me
Very gently
Closer than I
Would've expected
Time still moving
Slowly
My eyes still
Locked on your shadow
The difference
In height
In Grace
Confidence and comfort
We look
Strange
New
Interesting
Your skin touched mine
My face
My cheek
I try not to flinch
Afraid
That it was me
I blinked
Quick
As it might have been
It was dark
for too long
I still felt
Your warmth
The soft touch
The movement
Closer
So that I knew
It was real
Not my
Imagintation
Time
Went back to normal
You let go
Far too soon
I dropped
My hand
As you backed away
You laughed
Said, "Oops
Wrong side"
I smiled
Amused
Turning
I wondered
Did you see that?
Thinking later
I wonder
Was that intentional?
I wonder if
You could see
Our Shadows on the wall?
