Pen And Script
Words lose meaning
The sound is gone
Maybe it’s me
Maybe you’re wrong
I take my pen and write my script
Watch as the ink goes
Drip-drip-drip
The words flow
I know,
What needs to be said
It’s a warning before we give in
And all end up dead
My hands don’t shake but yours do
They quiver, you shiver
I’ll give you a chance
They call me the giver
Yeah, I guess it’s true
What they say
We’ll just blend into one
Write the same words
And then we’re done
We got our own story to tell
The words from my lips
They dripped and they fell
Into ink, black as night
The words that give meaning to life
I see with my eyes all scratched out and torn
I see the world, which is shattered and worn
So I write, I don’t write for you
I write for me and what I see
I write of endless possibilities
It’s a real world and I take note
What happens out there will cut your throat
You’ll bleed ink and then maybe listen
Listen with your mind as the black ink glistens
Its dark like the paths we take
The choice we make
They define us
Like the words I write
Words take flight
The world is old and often cold
But we gotta write and break the mold
Give a voice to reason and reason a voice
I’m writing now, I have no other choice
My words are clear, the meaning is too
I write for me, I don’t write for you
